Psychotherapist, EMDR Certified
Clinical Director
This workbook is a critical roadmap for your EMDR therapy and a crucial part of our work together, designed to help you uncover and integrate the unique pieces of your history. Even if you have extensive experience with talk therapy, following these steps is essential; attempting EMDR without this foundation is like trying to lift a heavy weight without proper mechanics—it often leads to frustration and quitting.
The workbook covers several integral components:
- How trauma is stored in the brain and body.
- Identifying somatic signals and fear responses (fight, flight, freeze, or fawn).
- Recognizing the presence of specific emotions and thoughts.
- Managing triggers and developing coping strategies.
- Understanding the role of attachment and early experiences.
- Addressing negative narratives and identifying memories to process.
If you prefer not to work this way, I may not be the right therapist for you. However, if you are looking to move past stuckness; or a plateau in your progress, I encourage you to commit to this process.
Life can be messy and difficult sometimes. It throws unexpected curveballs our way and a lot of times those curveballs come in the form of traumatic experiences. Trauma can debilitate us and many times it keeps us from living the lives we want and deserve to live. Your mental health is important and the fact that you are here says you’ve recognized the need to tend to yourself. I’m so glad you’re here.
I understand how scary and overwhelming making the decision to seek help can be. The process for creating a better life can feel so frustrating, confusing, and lonely. The good news is that you don’t have to walk this path alone. You don’t have to stay stuck in the rut you’re in right now – I can help. Life can change for the better when you find the right support and take steps towards better self-care. That’s why I’m here.
Working with me provides an opportunity to learn science-based concepts regarding how early relationships shape the development of the mind and brain from childhood into adulthood. Connections with caregivers induce neural circuit firings that persist throughout our lives, influencing how we think, feel, remember, and behave.
As a certified EMDR therapist, I utilize these concepts in conjunction with EMDR my experience and knowledge to help you pave a way toward better daily living and improved interactions across all relationships, including romantic, professional, family, and social connections.
